I am a young pastor, only one year in the pastorate. After really enjoying serving the Lord as a children’s pastor in Las Vegas Nevada, God called my wife and I out to take the senior pastorate in Kentwood Michigan. This was the last thing I thought was on the horizon! God is so good, and His plan is so much better than any plan we can come up with ourselves! I am thankful for a supportive wife, family, and friends, who have encouraged me in this transition.
I have so much to learn in life, family, and ministry. I wanted to have a place to write down my ideas, experiences, and even failures, with hopes of encouraging someone else in their ministry and life. I don’t want to look back ten years from now, having forgotten the lessons God taught me…destined to relive those same mistakes! Or worse…forget the blessings, and the successes. This blog will hopefully provide encouragement to a few, who, like me, want to grow closer in their relationship with Christ, our Savior. Most of my posts will be based on truths from scripture, with some personal experiences that I enjoyed, and want to share. My prayer is that this blog will motivate others to walk closer with Him.
I have been married for 7 years to my beautiful and supportive wife, Shonda. We have two exciting little munchkins, Katie Abigail and Bella Noel. Katie just turned 4 in October, and loves horses. Bella is turning 2 this January, and is a nurturing mommy to her baby dolls. I love my family, and love living in Michigan, where there is so much to do and see. God’s creation is so beautiful, and displays God’s perfect presence every day in our lives. Whether we are playing in the snow, or planting flowers.. making sand castles, or enjoying a pumpkin patch.. we love serving the Lord as a family. Being a pastor is not my job, it is a family ministry that we enjoy together.
As I yearn to offer encouragement and friendship to other pastors and co-laborers in ministry, I need the same. Please comment, or email me with input on a post, or an idea. I sure would appreciate it.
